Dan Tillapaugh, Ph.D., is Assistant Professor and Chair of the Department of Counselor Education at California Lutheran University. With 10 years of professional experience as a student affairs administrators in a variety of settings, he completed his Ph.D. in Leadership Studies at the University of San Diego and his M.Ed. in Counseling and Personnel Services at the University of Maryland. His research focuses on intersectionality and college student development, with a particular interest in the identity confluence of gender and sexuality. His most recent line of research has explored sexual violence in higher education, both the experiences of trans* and cisgender men who have survived sexual violence as well as college men who serve as peer educators on sexual violence prevention. He has been recognized as an Emerging Scholar Designee by ACPA – College Student Educators International for his research pertaining to student development in higher education.
