Special Issue on Gender-Based Violence Just Published!
The Consortium partnered with the Sonora Review, the oldest graduate student-run literary journal in the country, to publish a special online issue and nonfiction contest. The theme of the issue and contest is “Extinction,” and explores the relationship between gender-based violence and various other forms of irreversible harm (against the planet, other species, and ourselves).
The special issue includes works of fiction, poetry, and nonfiction, with an introduction by the Consortium’s Amalia Mora. The issue also features an interview by Sonora Review’s Sarah Ruth Bates with the nonfiction contest judge, critically acclaimed activist and author Lacy M. Johnson. The contest prize has been awarded to Meredith Clark for her piece, “Excerpt from 'Colluvium'.”
