Mission and Vision
The UA Consortium on Gender-based Violence seeks to model and inspire a radical shift in the way we think about and fight against GBV. Our mission is to bring together interdisciplinary, cutting-edge interventions on gender-based violence in order to foster and support synergy between research, pedagogy, outreach, service, and student engagement both on and off campus. We serve as both as a resource center as well as a campus and community collaborator in the design and implementation of groundbreaking programs. As the first of its kind on any American campus, the UA Consortium's vision is to establish a national model for understanding and combating GBV, fundamentally improving support for victims and survivors, and working to eradicate social and cultural attitudes that recreate cycles of violence.
Navigating The Website
In it's capacity as a resource center, the Consortium highlights and links campus, community, and nationwide efforts vis-à-vis gender-based violence. To this end, the website plays a key role, serving as a database of information on scholarship, scholars, and projects that address gender-based violence as well as on support services and research and outreach opportunities. As such, the website functions as a resource for scholars, educators, survivors, activists, and community members.
What We Do: The website features all UA campus initiatives that address gender-based violence, from research and educational programming to community outreach and support services. Logos for the units, colleges, or departments to which these programs belong or are affiliated are listed next to each initiative.
Resources: The Resources page highlights services, scholars, and projects that are not UA-affiliated. The page also hosts our Research Database of scholarship on gender-based violence.
We are pleased to serve as a resource for survivors of gender-based violence, researchers, direct service professionals, policy makers, and anyone who wants to get involved to join our fight against GBV. Please contact Amalia C. Mora at 520-621-3304 or at email@example.com to find out more about our work or how you can get involved.
